This ship chromolithograph is from Robert Charles Dudley’s The Atlantic Telegraph. The work was published in 1864. Dudley was hired by the Atlantic Telegraph Company to illustrate the transatlantic cable-laying expedition. This made Dudley's art invaluable with his sketches and paintings appearing in almost every book devoted to the subject of the transatlantic cables.
